Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

The traps beginners fall into most often.

The most common mistake is filling in cells on a hunch when they are not yet confirmed. A well-made nonogram is solvable with logic alone, so if you aren't sure, look at another line first.

Another frequent mistake is joining blocks incorrectly because you didn't block off the gaps between them with X. Mark the boundary cells with an X every time you confirm a block.

Focusing on one line can also make you miss changes on the crossing lines. When a confirmation appears, be sure to re-check the related columns and rows, and use the Show Mistakes feature to check your work.
